Overview

The Global Express XRS is an enhanced derivative of the successful Global Express. Announced in 2003 the first flight test of the aircraft was conducted in January of 2005. An area of improvement that the XRS has over its older sibling, the Global Express, is its slightly increased range, made possible by the addition of a fuel tank in the wing-body fairing as well as its fast refueling capabilities. The Global Express XRS is powered by two Rolls-Royce Deutschland BR710A2-20 turbofan engines. Each engine is rated at 14,750 pounds of thrust. The inspection interval for these engines is on an "On-Condition" basis. The Global Express XRS can be configured for typical seating and sleeping accommodations for eight passengers and four crew members, including two relief crew members, and incorporates the amenities appropriate for ultra long-range intercontinental legs.
