Overview

The BBJ3 is a large, twin-turbofan-powered, long-range business aircraft based on the successful B737. Its configuration is the same as that of the popular airliner with its swept low wing, twin engines slung beneath the wings, and rather prominent vertical fin. Its retractable tricycle landing gear has dual wheels on each unit. The fuselage, wing, engines, and landing gear are borrowed from the 737-900ER.Boeing Business Jet configurations vary from low-density arrangements optimized for eight passengers to high-density arrangements for approximately sixty passengers. Atypical arrangement will seat eighteen to twenty-five passengers in a lavish interior that will include lounges and conference areas, sleeping accommodations, and a large lavatory with shower. A separate crew lounge with lavatory and accommodations for a relief crew will be common for use on long missions. BBJ3 is the largest member of the Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) family offering a cabin volume of 7,290 cubic feet and an external baggage volume of 1200 cubic feet.
